Easter is only a day away, but in the days before Jesus’ resurrection, the tone set before the disciples was somber and bleak. They had believed that Jesus was their hope – the true Savior of Israel. They thought He was the One foretold to cast away the overbearing Romans and their oppression. The Messiah they had looked to had been crucified. All hope was lost.

Perhaps many of you feel an absence of hope during these anxious times. Jobs have been lost. Loved ones have passed away. Matters continue to get worse, and we all wonder whether things will go back to normal.

Ascension friends and family, just as Easter brought a renewed hope to the disciples, please know that it also does so for us in times of suffering and doubt. Given new courage and strength from this wondrous event, we move forward, awaiting the hope of eternal life with Him. We do this together as one family, ensuring that none are left behind.

But let us also remember those who are unfamiliar with this hope. How can you share the hope of Easter with others this weekend? One way is to invite them to watch our online services at 7:00 a.m. (Sunrise Vigil) and 10:00 a.m. (Festival Worship). Another is to host a watch party and tag anyone and everyone you know. Every effort counts in getting this important message out.

Be the vehicle of hope in someone’s life this weekend, providing the good news of Easter to them. Blessings to all of you as we await our blessed hope.
