Today is Good Friday. On this day we mourn the death of God’s one and only Son, who was downcast and afflicted to the utmost. He was “despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows” (Isaiah 53:3).

Jesus indeed went to the deeps, but it was not in vain. He did it for US. He conquered Satan and death to cheer our sinful and downcast spirits, because we all know what happened three days later.

Brothers and sisters of the Ascension family, this is why this Friday is GOOD. How can you cheer someone up today amidst our current crisis? What words can you speak into someone’s heart?
