UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

THE ROCK & THE RABBI is returning to the Plaza Theatre on Friday and Saturday, June 26 & 27! Many of you know that I am in show business. I have directed dramas and narrated several Cantatas at Ascension. Having seen The Rock & The Rabbi three times, I can vouch for the show being "Theatre at it's BEST," so wonderful that I want to see it again! The Rock & The Rabbi tickets are $28 (tax included) but I can get a group rate for $23 (tax included). I would like to get a group (or several groups) together to see this wonderful retelling of the story of Peter and Jesus. To get the best seats, I would like to get an approximation of those who would be interested. Please respond soon and let me know which performance would be best for you:

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2009 . . . July 6 - 10, 2009. Register your child online at www.vbs.cph.org.  Click on Our Garage/Online Registration.  Enter our username: AscensionCasselberry and click submit to enter Ascension's Garage.  Click on "Online Registration" at the top and a form will appear.  Please complete one form per child. . Gadget's Garage is the coolest place forkids of all ages to hang out this summer. Kids willmeet Gadget, our teen genius. Gadget spends lots of time tinkering in his workshop creating unique inventions out of old items that are found around the house. Children will also meet Gadget's latest and best creation, a wacky robot named Gizmo. Together Gadget, Gizmo, and all of the kids will go on great adventures and encounter the wonders of God's indescribable love in Christ and His eternal Word. At Gadget's Garage, kids will explore five Bible stories and discover that Jesus makes all things new, including each of them! It's not too late to volunteer for VBS!! No lesson planning . . . ADULT BIBLE STUDY . . . Friendly faces wanted to join in a faith-deepening study of God's Word! Come join in with other friendly faces for an invigorating study on Sunday nights from 6:00-8:00pm in Fellowship Hall C. Contact Jay Schaefer (sayhey2j@yahoo.com) with any questions you may have.

LUTHERAN COUNSELING SERVICES . . . Conflict, loneliness, guilt, and anxiety can result in the door to peace, joy, and vitality being closed. NEED HELP AROUND THE HOUSE? Not sure who to call or worried about the cost? We have a ministry called Outreach Action Teams. It is a 'helping hands' ministry for anyone for almost anything. Do you have a "handy-man" job need around your home? We have members who will do that free. Do you have a project that needs some help? We have people that will help. Example: Steven Childress recently helped David Preuss install a new hot water heater. We have people who will program your remote, help you learn how to run your computer, or even give financial advice – free! It is part of our ministry to you and those you know. THE 2009 ALTAR FLOWER CHART is now up in the sanctuary narthex. Please sign up for a date (or two) and have flowers on the altar. They can be in memory of a loved one, in celebration of an event, or just because! If you have questions, please contact Beverly in the church office (407) 831-7788 x14. The flowers are $35 per arrangement. Use one of the envelopes in the pew racks or fellowship hall to order and pay for the flowers.
